Random Drabble 8/15/07

I'm not even sure why I wrote this or if it was even supposed to go somewhere.

~

"What are you doing?" Alden asked a very preoccupied Kaida. Her long black hair-save for the few light brown streaks on the right side- was tied into a lose pony tail at the nap of her neck and it moved steadily as her fingers worked on a peice of paper. Alden grunted in annoyance as Kaida seemed to be ignoring him.

"You shouldn't make noises like that, you could attract a bear." Kaida turned to a blond- messy haired Alden; his blue eyes furrowed in frustration. "Anyways, since we're taking a break from our ever so pending journey to some place we've never heard of before and are not even sure exsists, I decided this would be a perfect time to make sure I hadn't lost my touch for making paper flowers." Kaida smiled genuinly and showed Alden a perfect oragami tulip.

"How do you make those?" commented Daniel, a tan and tall, though a little dorky, researcher. Kaida handed him her tulip and got out another sheet of paper, showing him the intricate folds involved. "I'm afraid that I don't quite understand," Daniel sighed.

"No worries, you can have this one." Kaida handed him the one she had just constructed. "Would you like me to show you how to make one?" she asked Alden, who turned away without saying anything. Kaida sighed and began whistling to herself as she put the paper back into her bag.

Glameow Drabble 7/25/2007

I don't remember writing this, but I did, so in the blog it goes.

~

Atta glanced down in disgust at the pokeball in her hand and sighed. inside the pokeball was a Glameow and she didn't want it. She remembered that right before she had left her home in Twin Leaf her mother had been so proud she was following in the footsteps of every female trianer in their fmaily that she hadn't taken time to consider Atta wouldn't want to keep with the other tradition of starting with a Glameow. Before she knew what had happened, she had been thrown out of the house with a pokeball containing a Glameow. Atta sighed, the pokeball weighing heavily in her hand. She had a ways to go before she could reach the Sinnoh contest hall, and considering what Glameow evolved into, she wasn't really pleased to be starting her journey anymore.

It was custom for girls of her family to start their journeys at fifteen, learning home skills for the five years the boys were away. She hated how old fashioned her family was, but it gave her plenty of time to daydream about contest moves she could use. That was in the past, though and she had to worry about the present and the present was Glameow. "Maybe if I let it out for a bit, I'll grow to like it," she pondered to herself. She was, after all, near Sandgem and it wouldn't hurt to be with the Glameow for some time. It wasn't that she hated Glameow, it was just that she couldn't stand them or thier evolution, Purugly. She had been around the two since she was born and ofotn feared that she would drown in the amount of Glameow the family owned.

"Here goes, Glameow, come on out," Atta cautioned. Before her appeared a blue cat pokemon with a tale that looked like a spring. When Atta was younger, she had tried to see if she pulled the tail out, if it would spring back. She never found out the answer as the cat had scratched her before she could pull the tail out all the way.

"Purrow?" Glameow looked up at her with a snobbish smirk and began to clean it's paw. That was another thing she hated about Glameow; they always thought that they were better then other pokemon.

"Why does our family like these things so much," she muttered under her breath low enough so the Glameow wouldn't hear her. It let out another purr before it began to walk elogently beside her. Atta sighed. By the time the two had reached Sandgem Town, she had not grown any fonder of the pokemon. In fact, she got annoyed by it's swaying spring tail more and it's mere presence. "Return," Atta sighed, recalling the blue cat. "I dislike Glameow," she sighed, slumping over slightly.

Atta walked over to the local pokemon center and sat down on one of the benches to check through her supplies. All the pokemon contests in Sinnoh were held in one location, so there was no need to register for them until she arrived at the town where they were all held. She watched as many eager trainer signed up for the league challenge, one of which she recognized, though had forgotten his name. She remembered seeing him when she was little looking out the window next door, but she had never met him in person before. "Should I say hi?" she asked herself as she watched the back of his blonde head nod to something Nrse Joy had said.

Before she could decide a course of action, the boy had left. She sighed and thought it odd that he would wait to leave home this late since he was around her age, but she shrugged and figured that it was none of her buisness. Sighing, she stood up, having been rested and refreshed, and left for Jubilife.

Atta liked the fresh air of the open road. She liked just about everything of not being home with her overly dramatic mother. She loved her mother, but she was the kind of woman who liked all eyes to be on her and her Purugly had picked up this habit as well. Atta sighed as she switched from thinking of her mother's Purugly to the Glameow in the pokeball she had with her. "I'd do anything to not have started with it, but I guess if I must have it, then there's nothing I can do," she sighed as she walked, grass snaging at her shoes.

Jubilife wasn't much farther ahead and she wanted to get there before sundown. One of the things that she loved about living in Twin Leaf was that the next town was only a day's walk away.

A wingullwings moment 7/11/07

I wrote this for something my friends and I did back in the day. We made our own characters to replace the ones in FFX-2. We called ourselves the wingullwings. It was so Mary sue-ish, but so much fun.

"Are those pyreflies?" Kehesia asked as the three sat down for a moment of rest, legs dangling off the dangerously high cliff. They were surrounded by glowing orbs that danced through the sky in incomprehensible geometric shapes.

"No, those are pokemon and they're called Volbeat," Lone explained, laying back on the grass and watching the dance unfold above her. "They dance to attract mates: Illumise."

"Dancing to attract mates?" Ira raised an eyebrow as she watched the dancing insects.

"Yeah, but then again, it's not all that ridiculous. It's my belief that after I danced the sending, he fell in love with me," Lone sighed, closing her eyes and not daring to open them for fear that tears would fall from them.

"I sense a subject change is in order," Ira commented.

"No, it's okay. I need to learn to move on, but every time I try to, I feel guilty. I just wish I knew if that was him or not in the sphere," Lone sighed and wished she had the sphere of Tidus' blitz ball game with her.

"Oh, this is depressing," Kehesia grumped, "Hey, I know, let's go kick some feind butt! That'll cheer you up especially if you get to use double T threat, right?" Kehesia grinned at Lone, narrowing her eyes slyly.

"I don't think a battle will help much," Ira shook her head with an amused grin playing on her face.

"Actually, it might be worth a shot," Lone smiled, standing up. "Thank you," she said to her friends. She didn't know what she'd do without them.

Paperclip 5/14/2007

I...don't even know.

~

paperclip in my pocket
oh how pink you are
how you got pink I'll never know

paperclip in my pocket
I forgot to take you out
you were washed and pink you no longer are

paperclip in my pocket
now you are a faded rose
though you smell like rancid soup

paperclip in my pocket
your smell will not go away
squirt hand-sanitizer on you as I might

paperclip in my pocket
now you smell like dirty hands
and other people are begining to notice

paperclip in my pocket
I must throw you away now
the stink has grown too much

paper clip in my pocket
you stained my pocket red
now I detest you

paper clip in my pocket
enjoy the trash can
the only place that smells worse than you

paperclip no longer in my pocket
I miss you so I replaced you
the new one is blue

Feinds 4/2/2007

I wrote this back in high school. I don't remember much about it except it was one of my epic ideas that never went anywhere.

~

Charles Masmund looked favorably upon the small town that his horse had lead him to. There was only a small grouping of houses as well as a few buildings. He assumed that these were only the ones necessary for survival, such as a hotel for travelers (which each town was required to have), a hospital, a food shop, a general store for everyday needs and to provide toys for the tots, and a field reserved for local traders to set up shop when the occasion was necessary. If his calculations were correct, he should also find a laboratory in this small town, which the villagers were to think was a postal service. This was the perfect front for such a building since the people in town would have no need for a post office. The town’s people probably took the building as a sign that they were destined for becoming one of the larger towns or cities of the world. Their accusation was more than likely correct, but for the wrong reason.

Charles directed his horse to the town and went to the hotel. He had a package to deliver to the laboratory, but he was in no hurry and the sun was setting. He figured that the package could wait until morning when the dew had just dried from the grass. He checked in and then put his horse in the stable beside the hotel. As he had finished tying his horse and making sure that she had an adequate amount of hay, he heard a scream. Charles ran out and observed a woman holding a child close to her.

“No! Don’t take my poor little Sydney from me!” she shouted, throwing a rock at a man in a suit that was holding his hands in front of him placating the enraged woman.

“Mrs. Drift, you know the law. If you can’t provide proper healthcare for your child, then your child will be placed in a family that can care for it until you are able. Now, don’t worry. If you get a nice job, then you will certainly be able to care for your child.” The man was wearing glasses; one of the lenses was cracked because of a rock that he had not managed to dodge being thrown from the woman.

“What job? There are no more jobs in this town. It’s so small and I don’t have the education to work at the hospital and no one works at the post office yet.” The woman picked up another rock and prepared to throw it.

“That’s what you assume,” Charles thought to himself.

“We can find you something Mrs. Drift. Many single mothers are able to support their children and many have more children then you.” The man made to move towards her, however her countenance changed and she fell to the ground, convulsing wildly.

“Back off,” Charles stood in front of the man, “she’s going to become a fiend!”

“I know that, but how do we stop her?” the man watched fearfully as the woman’s figure turned black and she rose up, becoming a hideous creature with a mouth lined with dozens of sharp teeth.

Mrs. Drift, or the fiend of Mrs. Drift, was about to lunge at the two of them, when a woman around Charles age, perhaps younger, ran in front of the fiend. “Mrs. Drift, it’s me, Lucy. Calm down. If you want, I will take care of your child for you that way you can see Sydney everyday and you will have the aid necessary to support him.” Lucy stared into where the eyes would be if Mrs. Drift’s fiend had eyes. The fiend seemed to consider Lucy before it fell to the ground and disappeared, leaving Mrs. Drift where it had been. Lucy went to attend to Mrs. Drift as Charles watched her every move.

“I’ve never seen anything quite like that.” Charles mused.

“That’s Lucy. Every time a fiend sprouts it’s ugly head, she’s been able to turn it back into a human. It’s quite remarkable.” The man told Charles. Charles smiled as he thought of the possibilities that girl could offer him.

Twilight Temptations 3/2/07

In high school, I had an arguement with a guy in band over whether or not Midna and Link from Twilight Princess could be together, and then came speculation that she was half human because she looks SO different from the other Twili. So this came about. It's old, but at the time I was proud of it. There is some suggestive content, but nothing major at all.

~

The reeds brushed against each other creating a perfect, earthy lullaby as the cattails danced lazily in the setting sun. Dusk had always been my favorite part of the day despite the fact that it filled the other villagers with sorrow. The ending of a day was always a sad time, but the elders also told that it was the only time when our world intersected with the world of shadows; the shadows that had been sent to an eternal prison for deeds to heinous to mention. Like the rest of the Ordonian young adults, I thought it was a simple fairy tale that the elders told us to scare from staying out at night.
It worked and no one dared stray from the village, save me. I found the dusk enrapturing. In my opinion, the best place to appreciate the full view of dusk was at the Faron spirit spring. I lay on my back amidst the reeds and tall grass, listening to the rippling of the water from the spring as the wind caresses it. The breeze tickled and teased my face, causing me to sneeze. I sat up, laughing at the simple pleasures of the land around me that no one else in our village could ever enjoy.
I tried to show my lady friend this beauty and wonder, but she was not able to find the joy that I did. I sighed and stretched my arms; the chill of the approaching night settling on my exposed skin. I stood up to return home when the dancing shadows caught my eye. They seemed to move in a way not possible with the light left in the sky.
I was memorized and rooted to the spot as I watched the shadows dance. They seemed to rise up and dance together, taking form as they did so. When their dance ended, before my eyes was what appeared to be a woman of the shadows. She looked nothing like any woman I had ever seen and I assumed that she was an alien of my dreams. Though normally I would have been frightened by such an apparition, the dusk and serene beauty of the land around me had relaxed me and I found myself strangely attracted to this woman-like being.
I stood and she walked towards me with measured, graceful steps. I found myself walking towards her, stumbling and feeling awkward as I moved, as if my body had suddenly became too big. I reached out and gently touched this woman's arm as we came close together. When I felt the smooth shadow under my finger tips, the hair stood up on my arms as I got goose bumps. She was drawn to me and I to her. As I gazed into those unnatural eyes, all thoughts of my village, my responsibilities, my life, and my lady friend were forgotten.
I had just reached the age of manhood and with this came all sorts of temptations; temptations that were overwhelming me at that moment. I knew I could not deny them.
The darkening sky hid me as I slid my clothing off in a clumsy rush. The cool breeze seemed to blow my mind away and detach myself from the current situation. I wanted, against my better judgment, everything that I knew was coming. When I lay with her, I was as complete bliss and as I committed the adulteress act that we both craved (I could feel her wanting in a way that I could not explain) I felt such a divine pleasure that I called out to the night and what gods were watching this impure act.
When it was over, I opened my eyes and she was gone. The moon was directly overhead and there were no more shadows. "Midnight," I sighed, letting the pleasure finish it's coarse through my body.
I suppose I fell asleep in that grove because the next thing I knew, it was morning and I felt sticky. I got up and jumped into the deep waters right next the spirit's spring and washed myself. I got out and put my clothes back on, then headed back to Ordon.
Years later, this act still lingered on my mind, though now I assumed it to be a dream. Shadow beings can not mix with those of the world of light, so eventually I came to try and forget, though I often dreamed of the events and a little shadow girl. My responsibilities grew and I had less and less time to spend out at dusk or even at the Faron spring. I never saw any shadows like I had that one night and it saddened me.
I married my lady friend and eventually, we had a son and named him Collin after my late father. After this, my wife became pregnant once again. I hope it's a girl because I've always wanted a daughter…
